What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Essential Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs and fundamental ideas of DCC. All of our teaching and ministry activities are rooted in and flow out of these Biblical Doctrines.

We embrace the historic, orthodox Christian teaching as expressed through the Scriptures and the ancient creeds that were written, ratified, and passed down to us by the church fathers that went before us. Some examples are the Apostle's Creed, the Nicene-Constantinople Creed, and the Athanasian Creed.

one triune God

There is one God, who has existed for all of eternity in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is, eternally, God the Son. He became incarnate as a man, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, dies a sacrificial death at Calvary, was resurrected in the body, and ascended to the right hand of God the Father. He will personally return to this earth in  power and glory.

THE BIBLE

The Bible is the inspired, authoritative, and infallible Word of God.

Salvation of humanity

Salvation is a free gift of God's grace and is available to all of humanity only through faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ.

regeneration by the spirit

Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation and His indwelling provides sanctifying power, enabling the Christian to live a holy life, as a saint, evidenced by the fruit of the Sprit.

baptism of the holy spirit

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is given to all believers who ask, is vital to the life that God has for us, and is evidenced by the gifts of the Spirit.

healing

The redemptive work of Jesus' death on the cross provides healing for the physical body in answer to believing prayer.

RessurRection

There will be a resurrection of both the saved and the lost, one to eternal salvation and one to eternal damnation.
